The Problem

Currently most electricity is produced by the burning of fossil fuel. Basically coal and oil, fired in boilers that are used to produce steam which then drive steam turbines turning large generators that produce your electricity. It takes quite a bit of energy to just explain it all. This system is overworked, outdated and very inefficient. Cost of electricity increased 250% in the last 25 years and because oil prices are continuously escalating so will the cost of your electricity.

The sun through a process called Photovoltaics can produce electricity. This photovoltaic process actually converts sunlight directly to electricity.
